Unlike some other churches Bethany does not have a full-time minister or pastor but rather our leaders (elders) are members of the church who we believe God has called to the role.
Tim is currently church secretary and assistant treasurer. He became a Christian at the age of 16, which he says was the best decision he ever made, and he has been coming to Bethany for 25 years.
Tim lives in Oxton with his wife Marion (second best ever decision) who runs Bethany’s Mums and Tots group.
He is MD of Feedwater, a water treatment company based in Moreton and, when he isn’t running that or helping to lead at Bethany, he plays golf (badly) at Arrowe Park and tries to keep on top of the DIY jobs at home.

John has been at Bethany for more years then he cares to remember, it was where he came to faith. He is married to Barbara (who is also a deacon) and they have two grown children. John has retired from his work as an environmental health protection officer (food) working for Cheshire West and Chester Council. When he and Barbara are not looking after their grandchildren he likes nothing better than a spot of coarse fishing, or bird watching, that’s when he can get the time. He’s also a good man for a barbeque.

Simon is married to Lisa and has three daughters and together they live in Prenton. He is a solicitor by profession and ‘enjoys’ swimming, cycling and running to different degrees but does so because they allow him to indulge his main hobby of consuming his own body weight in ice cream. Simon knows that Alan is wrong about Everton because Simon has a season ticket at Anfield.
More seriously, Simon made the decision to accept God’s open offer of forgiveness and acceptance as a teenager. Whilst life is never smooth or easy, it has only proven that decision to be correct time and time again
Andy is a local and went to Prenton Primary School. He is now a Solicitor in Liverpool and is married to Gillian. They have 3 active children who love nothing more than playing the drums when the Worship Team turn their backs. He is a season ticket holder at Tranmere Rovers and follows the England cricket team.
Alan’s background is in Education having taught Secondary English in the Eighties and worked as a one-man theatre company for the past twenty-five years in various schools across Merseyside helping children present Bible stories in school assemblies. He came to faith as a 12-year-old at the Merseyside Christian Youth Camps. He enjoys reading, theatre, music and chess. He firmly believes that Everton’s ground is at the centre of the universe. And he does not own a television
